Originally from New York, Dave has an invaluable work ethic and infectious positive attitude. As he oversees the daily operations at A Cut Above Catering, he is also an owner and husband to Chef Amy. This enthusiastic Giants fan motivates the team by empowering them to do well and is always working right alongside them, leading by example. Every fork and every packed truck that goes out to events is cared for due to his diligence and thoughtful precision. Dave enjoys spending time with the family and golfing.
Favorite Food- Korean Bim Bob and Linguine and clam sauce
Derek is a perfect example of a hard worker and he has a constant need to learn and improve himself. Derek Started with A Cut Above as the dishwasher and was eager to learn all things culinary and over the years with A Cut Above earning the title as Head Chef and working alongside Chef Amy. Derek strives for perfection with every event and is a key ingredient to all our success. With Derek also being a musician the music in the kitchen is always just right for the theme and atmosphere he needs to create his dishes. Derek leads his kitchen team with respect and cares equally for every worker. Derek enjoys writing music in his spare time and spending quality time with his wife.

Lauren has had the opportunity to create and execute and an extensive list of events that range from small intimate gatherings to large corporate events & weddings. Lauren graduated from Ohio State ( Huge Ohio State Fan) with a degree in Event Management. Her hands-on experience combined with the keen eye for detail has helped A Cut Above Catering team to success.
Favorite Food- Mangos & Grilled Chicken Thighs
Shaina is the driving force behind all of our spectacular weddings. Originally a native of Maine, she graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Hospitality Degree and a focus on event management. Her experience from hotels and restaurants means every detail whether it’s 50-500 guests never goes unnoticed. Combined years serving, bartending, and managing in fine dining has given Shaina culinary knowledge that can guide you in creating the perfect menu with our chefs.
Favorite Foods- Grilling outside or Italian Food!
When you get to know Jessica, you’re not surprised to find out that her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family and friends, boating and watching sports. With 16 years of experience in the restaurant industry, she has worked her way up from server/ bartender to management. Known around A Cut Above as the jokester, Jessica is known at the office for her commitment to ensuring that all events are appropriately staffed. Managing all of us is not an easy feat, but that doesn’t let that faze her team approach and open-door policy. She’s also been unanimously voted Best Character in the office, so good laughs are guaranteed with Jessica around.
